The road is narrow in spots and caution should be used when going around bends. (At one time, there were hand written signs posted at each bend advising motorists to 'sound horn' before continuing on.)

The drive to Long Cove offers a scenic view of Queens County's rugged coast line. An added bonus is all the 'extras' placed along the way by Elinor Roberts Selig, self-appointed 'Mayor of Long Cove'. Once you find the cache, continue to the end of the road to visit  Elinor's museum, visit her 'Dis and Dat' shop and read the signs she has placed. If you're lucky, the 'mayor will be in' and you'll get to meet a fascinatingly unique lady. Washroom facilites via Port-a Potty (may not be available during all seasons). Plenty of room to turn your vehicle around.

THERE IS NO NEED TO STEP OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NO CLIMBING OF ANY KIND IS REQUIRED.
