The Goat Hill tow path trail along the Blackstone is sublime in the early spring & fall.
Located just north of the River Bend Farm visitors center, a great place for kids to connect with nature.
The canal was 35 feet or more in width. It ascended 451 feet, passing through an original 49 locks. Goat Hill Lock(1827) is one of the few remaining locks along the river, most were sold & dismantled to be repurposed. This amazing piece of transportation history is a site to behold. the workmanship on the cut stone is spectacular. The old towpath trail is a great place to hike amongst the flora & fauna & the teeming wildlife. Enjoy
