The Eagle Drive-In was one of three drive-in movie theaters located in Pasadena, Texas during the late 1950's and early 1960's . Some Details on the other two I will present first.
The Red Bluff on Lawndale (Now State Hwy 225 and Red Bluff Road. The Pasadena Drive-In was located on the east side of Shaver St between Sam St and Pauline. Sam Street is close to where the entrance and ticket booth were located.
The subject of this cache had the shortest life span of the three. From aerial photos on Historic Aerials . com I noticed the Eagle Drive-In theater appeared between 1953 and 1957 along the unincorporated two lane blacktop Red Bluff Road just north of Pasadena Boulevard. The next photos from 1962 show the screen is already missing but the projection booth / concession stand was still standing. My conclusion was the screen received major damage from Hurricane Carla in 1961 and resulting in screen removal.
Today the cache rests near the old concession stand foundation. The container is an “ammo can” and contains awards for the first,(gold) second(silver) and third(bronze) to find. I also placed a small detachment of defenders for the safe guarding the cache. Please use the password of “geocaching” for safe entry to the cache container.
