Geocache Description:

We have placed this cache at one of the two roadside viewing areas for the Tasmanian Chinese Cultural Park of Australia at Campania.  A multi-million dollar Buddhist Temple and University is planned for the park. It is expected to become the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere once completed.

The first stage of the project began with four majestic 7m-tall Heavenly Devas and two 4m-tall Guardian Lions stone statues being placed on the Tea Tree Road property.  Further plans include a 36m-high gate which would be one of the first buildings in the multi-stage project, along with a drum tower and bell tower, all in the architectural style of the Chinese imperial court.

In May this year The Mercury Newspaper reported that ‘…..heads are turning and passers-by slow down their cars or stop to admire these statues….’  So, if you haven’t already visited the site come and see for yourself and even if you have been, come back again, as there is now a cache to be found here.

There is a convenient verge on either side of Tea Tree Rd, where you can safely park, take in the sights and use your cameras. A fifteen minute parking limit applies.

Lots of muggles regularly use this road but they shouldn’t be suspicious of your presence here and the ‘I’m taking a photo’ camouflage would be perfect.

Geocache contents: Log sheet and pencil.

No swaps.
