I was out on the Diez Vistas Trail and wondered why there were so many gaps in the trail between caches. As I proceeded up the Trail, I found out quickly that the Trail traverses 3 jurisdictions. Starting up the hill, the trail is in the BC Hydro Buntzen Lake Recreational area. Soon, you encounter a sign informing you that you are crossing into Metro Vancouver’s Belcarra Park (hence the large gaps between caches). About halfway across the top of the ridge, you cross into Indian Arm Provincial Park, before working your way back down the hill into the BC Hydro Buntzen Lake Recreational area.
I have placed a few new caches along this trail to add to a day’s Geocaching. They are all quick, easy finds, just off the trail. You will see a bright green flagging tape near each one to let you know you’re close. This cache is located in Indian Arm Provincial Park.
