Geocache Description:

This old rock fence type, is often called a "slave fence", but such is not usually the case. My great grandfather (and family) built this one, about 100 years ago, when they lived nearby. They had 17 kids. In Rutherford County, it was common practice to buy 25 acres, then clear the rocks off half of it, by plowing them up and then throwing them on the other half, use them for a house foundation or use them to build a fence. That left maybe 10 to 15 acres to farm.

EZ nearby safe parking along this old abandoned road. OK for kids ?.... maybe?.... you decide. Out in the country, so expect a few small "critters", especially in the summertime. "Bug Spray" definitely recommended. Careful where you might step or climb. You are looking for a small container, with log only, so bring a "scribble stick" to sign the log. PLEASE carefully rehide as found, so the next cacher can enjoy the hunt. Have fun & happy caching.
