Geocache Description:

This is a cache placed by the 3gs Mens Project to raise awareness of local history highlighting important locations roughly along the route of the Glamorganshire Canal diverting slightly along the way.  This route now travels roughly where the Taff Trail runs.  All locations on the Taff Trail are within a metre or two of the tarmac path making them inclusive for all abilities.

Next to Jacksons Bridge was a place called 'China'.  'China' was supposedly the most criminal community in the whole of Wales, a nest of crime and vice.  It rested below the level of the road and was walled in by the river and a huge cinder tip which meant there was only one way in and out.  Reputedly passers by would hide their money in their mouths and shoes, anywhere the Chinese pickpockets couldn't get to.
