Geocache Description:

This is a cache placed by the 3gs Mens Project to raise awareness of local history highlighting important locations roughly along the route of the Glamorganshire Canal diverting slightly along the way.  This route now travlels roughly where the Taff Trail runs.  All locations on the Taff Trail are within a metre or two of the tarmac path making them inclusive for all abilities.

Quay Row once housed colliers associated with the steam coal pits established by Robert and Lucy Thomas.  Robert and Lucy Thomas were one of the first to sell and market Welsh steam coal as a commodity in it's own right.  They are called pioneers of the Welsh steam coal trade.  Lucy was called the 'Mother of the Welsh Steam Coal Trade'.
