Il est inauguré en juin 1883 avec le concours de fanfare militaire, un envol de montgolfières et une fête populaire. Après les années 1890, l’omnibus hippomobile du père Carle, puis les tramways de Savoie, ramènent en gare de Chambéry les joueurs et autres noctambules qui quittent Challes-les-Eaux aux petites heures du matin.
Au 20e siècle, le casino connaît de nombreuses activités au rythme des conflits internationaux : il est utilisé comme hôpital de l’armée américaine en 1918, comme centre d’accueil pour des réfugiés polonais, puis réquisitionné comme centre de soins pour les troupes allemandes à la fin de la guerre en 1944.
Aujourd’hui, le casino ouvert 7j/7 propose 75 machines à sous, du blackjack, du poker et une roulette anglaise, un restaurant et une salle de réception complètent l’établissement.

The 19th century rural life turned into a society life especially thanks to the casino’s building. It was opened in June 1883 with a military band, hot-air balloons trips and a big party. After the 1890s, old Carle’s horse-drawn carriage and then the Savoy trams took the night players and night owls back to Chambery station early morning. In the 20th century, the casino’s economic activity was punctuated by international armed conflicts : it was used as a hospital for the US army in 1918, as a welcome center for Polish refugees, and finally, as a health clinic for the German troops at the end of the war in 1944. Nowadays, the casino is open everyday, has 75 slot machines and proposes blackjack, poker, roulette. A restaurant and a reception room finish off the establishment. [There is no pen in the box.]
