You arrive at Buff’s Summit, one of the highest mountains in Oskus, atop which lies Ragnarok’s lair.
You traverse the treacherous patch up Buff’s Summit and finally reach the entrance of the beast’s nest. Suddenly the ground shakes with a mighty roar and you are knocked back as Ragnarok sweeps out of his cave and takes flight into the sky. You let loose a flurry of arrows at the beast however simply cannot penetrate his tough scales.
The world around you is suddenly ablaze as Ragnarok breathes fire down upon you. You manage to take shelter behind a large boulder but yet the heat singes your exposed skin. As the inferno around you becomes unbearable you feel your fear, doubt and weariness from the journey being pushed out by the same feeling of power growing inside of you that you felt earlier at the cave wall.
You let go of all inhibitions and start reciting the enchantment you learned in the cave. Your own words and voice sounds foreign as you repeat the enchantment in a language you do not know and have never heard before. Your sword begins to glow in your hand and you are surrounded by the same aura you first saw in Ironmoor. You rise up from behind your hiding place and are enveloped by the flames spewing forth from Ragnarok’s maw. The earth around you is scorched however you are unaffected.
Ragnarok realizes that his fire has no effect on you and sweeps down to meet you face to face. The earth shakes as Ragnarok lands mere meters from you. You see the confusion in Ragnarok’s face make way for recognition as he realizes that you are the mortal who can slay him. He swings his massive tail down in an attempt to crush you but you manage to roll out of the way and the blow misses. As the area around you is enveloped in dust from the blow you rush Ragnarok and impale your sword into the base of his skull.
Bright red light erupts from the wound and Ragnarok turns to ash as his defeated roar echoes from the surrounding landscape.
You fall to the ground exhausted but elated. Ragnarok is slain and Oskus, Grundiël and the world is safe again.

Day permits can be obtained at the office for R30/pp and R15 for children (2-11 years). Opens at 08:00 daily. A map can be obtained for R10 at the offices should you wish to have more trail info on the route. Office contact number is 041 991 9914. It is recommended to go in groups of 2 or more (max 12).
Pack sufficient food and water as completing this series may take a couple of hours. Cellphone reception is very poor at times. GPSr recommended.
