Geocache Description:

The locals call it "The Ghost Bridge". The highway that used to be on top was the Old Hwy 7 & 8. Underneath was the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad between Grenada and Greenwood. This line originally went from Jackson to Grenada via Yazoo City and Greenwood. Later the line was extended from Greenwood to Memphis and this part of the line no longer served any real purpose.

According to the 1943 Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad Condensed Track Profile for the Greenwood District, that bridge is located at Mile Post 309.9 (measured from New Orleans) and was built in 1925. It is 22 feet high and the total length including the wooden approaches was 304 feet.
