井頭公園は『日本の都市公園 １００選』にも選定された、栃木県を代表する都市公園の一つです。
９３.３ｈａの広大な敷地には、中央の井頭池を囲む形でコナラ・クヌギ・アカマツなどの丘陵地と雑木林が広がり、野鳥の姿を目にしたり、桜、新緑、紅葉など四季折々の自然の表情が楽しめる、豊かな自然環境をつくりだしています。園内には、水とふれあう一万人プールやボート池、植物とふれあうバラ園や高山植物館、動物たちとふれあう花ちょう遊館、井頭池に飛来する鳥たちを観察できる鳥見亭などが配置され、年間８０万人以上の県民に利用されています。公園内はとても広いので自転車で周ることをおススメします。
