The congregation of Cremore celebrated the bicentennial of their church in 2002. Since it was built in 1802, the Church has, in its two hundred years, seen many changes. It was built in the style of a 'bam' church that was very common in the early years of many congregations. The interior of the church has changed considerably over the years. Originally there was a central aisle with doors at each end - the present entrance door and another door which was situated behind where the pulpit is today. At that time the pulpit was placed in the centre of the long wall at the rear of the church, away from the road.
In the 1890's the original Session House was replaced to enable a high-pressure heating system to be installed and at the same time the layout of the interior of the church was altered. These alterations included the moving of the pulpit to its present location and the original single aisle being replaced by the two aisles, which are a feature of the church today. In 1927 David Haire donated the church's first organ in memory of his parents. Later on the Session House was removed and the present Session House built, including Session and Committee rooms, kitchen and toilets. Other improvements over the years have been the provision of a car park and the installation of electric light and a new heating system. Around 1953 further major renovations took place. The roof was renewed, the windows were replaced and the building re-plastered inside and out. More recently all doors have been renewed, the exterior of the church has been painted and the car park resurfaced.

The Church Micro IE series is open to everyone; if you have a church you would like to place a cache at then please contact THE_Chris through Geocaching.com. This is to keep track of the numbers of the churches and give you the general format for the cache page. In the UK there are thousands in the series so we have some catching up to do! Also, if you currently have a published cache at a church that you would like to include in the series, get in contact and we can add it.
