According to the National museum of Roller Skating, The first Skates can be dated back as far as 3000 B.C But Inline skates are theoried to be made much later in scandinavia on northern europe. Around the 1700's The dutch called our them Skeelers and skated on Ice canals in the winter. The first known Inventor of Inline skate was John-Joseph Merlin And were really only made for the wealthy. Since then Roller Skating, Ice skating, and roller blading has been a worldwide favorite recreation.
