"So in two seconds away we went a-sliding down the river, and it did seem so good to be free again and all by ourselves on the big river, and nobody to bother us."

Just like Huck and Jim, you WILL get wet. There's no way to avoid getting wet on this river cache. Unlike Huck and Jim, you don't have to have a raft although you would enjoy the float. Swimming won't be a necessity but the current is swift here and you'll need to watch your footing. If you are not a good swimmer, please bring a flotation device with you. Turkey Creek Park management requires that cachers do not go beneath the boardwalk and you CANNOT get to the cache by land. The park opens at 6:30 a.m. daily and closes before dark; closing hours vary seasonally and are posted at the park. You can get to the nearest water access from either Turkey Creek Park or Turkey Creek Park North (off College Blvd). The hike to the water is short from the North Park and results in a longer float. The hike to the water from Turkey Creek Park off Hwy 20 is 3/4 mile.
