Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches encouraging the travelling geocacher to explore Metz Road, Chinamans Gully Road, and Old Hillgrove Road into Hillgrove village and back out to Waterfall Way via Stockton Road. On the way there are opportunities to explore the vistas and mining history of the area.

As I walked into the scrub here I discovered where the Metz road used to go around a bend at this point. A billabong is an aboriginal word referring to an elbow of a waterway that has been cut off from the main stream. In this case it is an elbow of road that has been cut off due to a realignment, so to me it's like finding a billabong where you didn't expect one.

This might make your GPS jump around a bit.
