The higher terrain is due to the fact that if the LION sees you first you may need to climb a tree or he will eat you.
The higher difficulity rating is due to the fact that we intentionally tried to make this a really difficult cache - we've put out a lot of P&G's lately and knew local cachers were ready for a new challenge.
Please no spoilers or veiled hints in your log. Let other cachers have as much fun/frustration as you did - everyone needs to earn the smiley.
