One of a series of caches encouraging the travelling geocacher to explore Metz Road, Chinamans Gully Road, and Old Hillgrove Road into Hillgrove village and back out to Waterfall Way via Stockton Road. On the way there are opportunities to explore the vistas and mining history of the area.
"The Turnoff" is named from the perspective of the Village of course. This is where you turn off onto Old Hillgrove Road to go to Metz and Bakers Creek falls. When there is a village event of some sort requiring a 'gate entry' this is where the 'gate' is set up.
