Bakers Creek flows over Bakers Creek Falls only 400m from this bridge. You can't see the falls from here but if you look South the creek does a little dog-leg to the right where it begins its cascade, then flowing around a tight left and disappearing from view as it hurls itself down the stone steps into the gorge, where it is visible from the lookout up the road. Bakers Creek forms part of the Macleay River catchment.
A raindrop that falls here has the potential to one day meet the sea at the mouth of the Macleay at South West Rocks. When it reaches the Macleay it will join the water that has flowed all the way down the Gara River from high up on the Guyra Plateau near Llangothlin, and water that have come from Wollun and Kentucky, down Salisbury Waters and over Dangars Falls. As that raindrop travels from there it is joined by the Chandler River, bringing water from Wollomombi and Round Mountain, and water that has flowed down the Styx River from Ebor and Point Lookout.
Park at the top of the T-intersection so other vehicles can get around you easily.
