Sonnet Foratuit
Yesterday I had a task to do
And it really was not very hard.
All that was asked of me was to see it through
And having done it, I would not be scarred.
I started the job with willing hand and eager heart
And prepared all my tools in a row.
Being a craftsman I was about to show my art,
But getting it started seemed rather slow.
Putting my coffee down, I rolled up my sleeve.
The boss came around and asked me Why do I sit?
I looked at the clock and said “It was time to leave.
But no fear,” said I “For I will get around to it!”
