La Chiesa dei Santi Carlo e Vitale alle Abbadesse
Si trova in un piccolo angolo di Milano, nascosta agli occhi del milanese distratto e frettoloso.
Si tratta di una Chiesa in Barocco "incastonata" in una strettoia tra un Ristorante che prende lo stesso nome e la facciata della Chiesa stessa creando uno strano effetto "intimo" molto particolare.
Penso sia una delle poche chiese a non avere un minimo di sagrato "costretta" a coesistere con il mondo moderno e con l'asfalto prospiciente.
La chiesa venne costruita a cavallo fra il sedicesimo e il diciassettesimo secolo nel periodo in cui in zona erano presenti le "Cascine delle Abbadesse" del monastero di Sant'Agostino e tutto intorno si vedevano coltivazioni di campi, orti e vigneti solcati da fiumi e canali.
L'interno della Chiesa si presenta a navata unica e ospita un altare tardo-barocco. Internamente è suddivisa in quattro campate e coperta con volte a botte e tetto a due pioventi. Sul cantonale di levante è impostato un campaniletto a pianta quadrata. Le pareti interne sono adornate ed affrescate (per lo più dal Morazzone).
Facciata della Chiesa
Il grande altare tardo barocco si trova davanti ad un abside solamente dipinto sulle pareti.
La facciata, pur molto sobria, non è priva di una certa solennità, specie in proporzione alle piccole dimensioni dell'edificio. La chiesa rappresenta una testimonianza della Milano che fu, e sicuramente merita una visita e quindi direi io ... una cache. (fonte Milanofotografo.it).

The beautiful Church of Saints Carlo Vitale and the Abbesse
hidden from the eyes of the Milan distracted , it is a great Baroque style set in a tight very special crossroads.
The church was built at the turn of the sixteenth and seventeenth century, at the time at the center of what were the Cascine Abbadesse of the monastery of St. Augustine, intended for the cultivation of fields, orchards and vineyards crossed by rivers and canals.
It looks like a small church with a single nave and houses a late Baroque altar. Internally it is divided into four bays and covered with vaulted ceilings and roof with two pioventi. Cantonal Levante is set to a small bell tower with a square plan. The interior walls are decorated and painted (mostly from Morazzone).
Facade of the Church
The great late baroque altar is located just in front of a painting on the walls apse.
The facade, although very simple, is not without a certain solemnity, especially in proportion to the small size of the building. The church is a testimony of Milan which was, and definitely worth a visit.
