This park is a great little neighborhood park. Its a wonderful place to relax by the water, play ball with the dog, and let the kids play on the playground. We live in the area and never knew about the second name of John Schroeder until researching for this geocache. This is the first of our Bug Cache's.
The soccer field at Anchor Park in Massapequa was named John Schroeder Field in a ceremony conducted by officials from the Town of Oyster Bay. “It is my hope that whenever you are down here, you will think of a role model like John Schroeder who dedicated his life to soccer,” commented Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto.
