This cache is placed as encouragement to walk to the top of Little Lions head.
The cache location offers a great spot to take your first break or to get your party to regroup.
Please bring your own pen, and be sure to replace the container at the exact spot that you found it. (I do not want to come replace after a fire)
If you have not been up here before have a look out for GC21FC - Houtbay, having been hidden as long back as
13 October 2001 I'm sure it will feature in your top 10 oldest South African caches.
The walk to the trig beacon should take just over an hour (depending on your speed) and down maybe 45 minutes.
If parking at parking 'A' just walk to the big gate and you'll notice a pedestrian gate to the right. Here you will be buzzed out. Please be sure to close the gate behind you and take note of the operating time if you are coming for the walk late in the afternoon.
If you think you may be on the trail till after 18h00 then maybe use parking 'B'.
As per usual when walking in Cape Town, always be aware of your surroundings, dont walk alone, and always inform someone of your intended route and return time. Remember water, a sunhat and something to eat is a good idea as I'm sure you may want to spend some time at the summit.
Most of all remember why you do what you do. Remember to have fun.....its not a competition and there is no prize for being first.
