Geocache Description:

Puukätkö Pyhäjarven maisemissa / Tree cache at the shore of Pyhäjarvi

Pere kuulostaa kovin tyhjältä ilman Tam-etuliitettä. Ala-asteella muistan kuinka aamunavauksessa joku koulumme opettajista spekuloi onko Pereen ja Tampereen nimillä jotain yhtäläisyyksiä. Tampereen nimi on etymologisesti kovin haastava, joten miksipäs ei.

Pereensaari on Pirkkalan Pereessä oleva Pyhäjärven saari (vai lasketaanko niemeksi). Saarella on venesatama, joku hienomman oloinen talo ja historiassa ilmatorjuntatukikohta jatkosodan aikana. Tästä muistuttaa vuonna 2015 paljastettu muistokyltti Pereensaareen johtavan tien varressa. Saarelta on hienot järvimaisemat. Suoraan pohjoisessa parinsadan metrin päässä on Viikinsaari, jonka takana kohoavat harjukaupunginosat Pyynikki ja Pispala.

Katsokaa attribuutit. Apuväline tai apulainen on oikea valinta. Ja kaikki kuvat ovat meilellään tervettulleita.

Pere sounds so silly without the prefix "Tam." I remember how other pupils teased our school teachers to speculate why the names Pere and Tampere sound so similar. The etymology of the name "Tampere" is rather difficult to explain, so let us leave it aside.

Pereensaari is the island, or more precisely a peninsula, on the Pyhäjarvi lake just next to Pere. The island has a marina, one house, and the history of anti-aircraft base that defended the city during the Continuation War. A memorial plaque was unveiled in 2015. Pereensaari is one of the best places with scenic views in Pere. Directly to the north, only a couple of hundred meters away, is the island Viikinsaari. On the other side of the lake, the ridge parts of the Pyynikki and Pispala are visible.

Check attributes. Special equipment or team work recommended.
