道の駅みとみは国道140号沿いにある道の駅です。
国道140号線は、埼玉県北部の熊谷市から秩父地方、山梨県都甲府市を経て富士川町の国道52号交点までのに達する国道です。
国道に指定されてから1998年までのおよそ半世紀にわたり、埼玉・山梨両県の間に不通区間がありました。
1998年、雁坂トンネルの開通に伴って埼玉県と山梨県の往来が可能となりました。
この道の駅は、雁坂峠の西側にあります。
また、名所である西沢渓谷の入り口にありまる。
道の駅から、歩いて西沢渓谷を楽しむことができます。
（西沢渓谷に行くのであれば、もうすこし上流の駐車場がおすすめです）
