彩甲斐街道出会いの丘は国道140号線の雁坂トンネルの近くにある休憩施設です。
国道140号線は、埼玉県北部の熊谷市から秩父地方、山梨県都甲府市を経て富士川町の国道52号交点までのに達する国道です。
国道に指定されてから1998年までのおよそ半世紀にわたり、埼玉・山梨両県の間に不通区間がありました。
1998年、雁坂トンネルの開通に伴って埼玉県と山梨県の往来が可能となりました。
雁坂トンネルの埼玉県側に彩甲斐街道出会いの丘があります。
雁坂峠を超える際に一息をつける場所になっています。
駐車場の一角からは、険しさがわかるように二つの大きな橋を見ることができます。
私は彩甲斐街道出会いの丘の一角にある石垣にキャッシュを設置しました。
