Last year, after a week away, I noticed that I had found a geocache on seven consecutive days which was, at the time, a personal best geostreak for me. I decided to keep it going and see if I could get into double figures. One thing led to another and I eventually reached a 101-day geostreak.
This cache can be found at the published coordinates; HOWEVER, in order to log a find, you will also need to have completed an epic geostreak. Even at Difficulty 5, I wouldn't expect a 101-day geostreak - but you will need to have completed a geostreak of at least 50 days. Any logs which do not meet this requirement will be deleted.
I wanted to create a D5 / T5 geocache, so I have hidden this cache in a remote spot near the highest point in the local area. The cache is located on Open Access land and there are no footpaths leading to GZ. Some rough walking across heather will be required. But you will be rewarded with magnifient views (depending on the weather at the time of your visit!)
Parking in the area will be an issue. All of the local roads are single track, with no designated parking places. Please do not block any roads or passing places. Limited parking may be available in East Woodburn; alternatively there is space for a few cars at N55 11.364 W002 09.260.
I would recommend approaching GZ from the quarry road just north of East Woodburn (trailhead coordinates: N55 10.696 W002 08.640). Follow the road up, through two gates, and you will see a footpath signed leading you up the fell side past Staniel Heugh and The Dod. You will then need to head east over rough ground to Hart Side - there is a large cairn on the hilltop to aim for!
