Krokstand er den nordligste grenda i Dunderlandsdalen, ved foten av Saltfjellet, 60 km nord for Mo i Rana. Her passerer E6 forbi cachestedet. Grenda er oppkalt av stedsnavnet Kroken, der Ranelva flyter i form av en elvekrok. Krokstand har et vertshus - Krokstand kafè og overnatting, og Krokstand Camping med motell, en campingplass med hytter, lekeplass med trampline og 12 minigolf-bane.

The hamlet is named after the place Hook , where Ranelva flows in the form of a riverhook .
