Geocache Description:

International Earthhcache Day is Sunday October 9, 2016.

Come along to this event and find out more about earthcaches.  There will be two earthcaches nearby - one already published and a new one to be published on the day. On October 9th you'll get a special souvenir for finding an earthcache, too!

Our venue is The Junction Inn at Norbury Junction, they have wifi.

The Event

Sharant will be at the Norbury Junction Inn between 12-2pm to help you answer any questions you may have on how to log earthcaches. The Inn are setting aside an area for us - so in your 'will attend' log please do state a)how many are coming, and b)how many eating.  If you want the carvery, no need to call ahead, just log a 'will attend', but if you need something special it'll be good to call them (01785 284 288) and pick something from the menu - state that you are part of the geocaching group.

  • The Inn reckons they'll have a large party of ramblers in after us, so to avoid crowding best if we clear out by 2pm. Logging your 'will attend' intentions will help us measure what the demand is.  Decide and tell us early!

Nearby Earthcaches

Gavin 'The Captain' Gladstone-Norbury Bedrock

Published in April by TangoA&J, and a premium member-only cache, this one is difficult to do unless you walk - and why not?  16th in a nice walking series, which TangoA&J have said they'll make available to 'basic' members for this weekend only, so now's your chance! Maybe you can do the walk in the morning before the event and meet us for lunch?

The Moss Kettle

To be published at the event, this new earthcache will be near the waypoint (see event listing page).  We'll have sheets to handout too (please recycle later) and advice on how to search for the answers to the geological questions - and discuss the interesting earth sciences that explain Loynton Moss.  There are three other quite interesting geocaches at Loynton Moss, so many of us will head over there after lunch to mooch around and watch the fun!
