Geocache Description:

This event is dedicated to two of my good friends and caching partners, honeybee77 and zomarkaan.

honeybee77 and zomarkaan have been cachers for some time now, since 2006 and 2008 respectively. Let's take a look at some of their caching history...

zomarkaan has done most of his caching in Illinois (82.5% of his 2,102 finds are located in the state), but has caches in Germany and Mexico, as well as 13 other states. He started caching with renewed interest this year, and with 577 finds at this point in 2016, it is already his best year of caching by more than a hundred! And impressively, only about 47% of his finds are micros (compared to this CO's 61%...).

While honeybee77 did not start caching in the Chicago suburbs, she has made a home for herself here. In 2015 she embarked on a (crazy) quest to find at least one physical cache in all 48 of the continental states, and accomplished the feat (along with Washington DC and three Canadian provinces) on November 28th of that year. A geologist at heart (read: rock geek), she has found an astounding 154 Earthcaches, and "hidden" four of them!

zomarkaan and honeybee met in Janaury, 2016, at a geocaching event after talking back and forth for about a month. They became fast friends, caching companions, and before long were in a relationship. zomarkaan recently accepted a job in the Milwaukee area and will be moving up there soon, where he will be followed shortly thereafter by honeybee.

While it makes me sad that they are going to be a fair distance away, I am very excited for both of them to start a new chapter of their lives, and to start that chapter together. So please, come on out and join me in giving them both a grand geocaching send off! This event will be hosted at:

Dawn's Beach Hut

8 N 3rd Street,
St. Charles, IL 60174

On Friday, October 7th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

IMPORTANT: Dawn's Beach Hut is a 21 and over bar that specializes in tropical drinks (think pina colada type), although they do have the regular stuff as well. There is a limited food menu, mostly appetizers. Unfortunately, if you are under 21 or are with someone under 21, you won't be allowed inside for insurance reasons. However, since geocaching is a family activity, if you come by while the event is going on I'll be happy to let you log it and hopefully we can have a little chat outside :)
