As you walk past the Viaduct Inn take a look at how it looks now. Check out the image gallery to see photos of how it looked in 1936 when it was called the Lyons Hotel. This was called Cascade House in the 1800s. When I was young it was called the Pleasant Valley Inn (aka PVI) and was a pretty popular bar for awhile. During the flood of 2006 much of it was destroyed and demolished. What you see now is what was done after the remodeling.
The cement bridge that goes a top the road I have always thought was nearly as pretty as the viaduct down the road. This was build in 1930 and replaced a steel structure. If you look around there is still evidence of the old bridge.
Across the road and up the hill just a bit is a run down little white building that is an old jail. I have not been able to find out much information on this but I wanted to bring people here to take a look before it falls in. This road is very busy so if you cross it to take a look at the jail be very careful. There is also a bad nest of bees that keeps coming back even after exterminators came and took care of them. So if you are allergic to bees stay at GZ away from the jail. Take a look at the photo gallery to see a photo I have posted that was what the jail looked like in its better days many many years ago.
If you have trouble finding this or think it has been muggled please message me I live nearby and can come help or take a look.
Congrats to Asil80 and Manderine12 on being the FTF!!
