Geocache Description:

Lacey Township is known for it's beautiful and well maintained parks. This series - LPS (Lacey Park Series) features some of Lacey's most well know and perhaps some not so well known parks in the township.

Bud Mezera Park is named in honor of Charles "Bud" Mezera who runs the township lifeguard team and was a gym teacher at the Forked River School for many years, he was my gym teacher 30 years ago when I attend FRS. The park features an older playground for smaller children and a larger newer one as well. There used to be a basketball court in the parking lot when I was a kid and I spent many days playing basketball and street hockey in the lot as well as football in the grass. There is a dirt/concrete hill adjacent to the parking lot that goes down into the water and is now covered with grass and weeds, this used to be where they launched the July 4th Fireworks from before they moved it to the high school.
