Geocache Description:

With stunning views across Somerset and the Bristol Channel, Deer Leap is one of the most breath-taking spots in the county.

On a clear day you can see across the Somerset Levels and Moors to the Polden Hills and then in the distance the Quantock Hills.  Glastonbury Tor and Nyland Hill are clearly visible, along with many of the small 'islands' that sit within the marshes.

The site is located within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is also a scheduled ancient monument.

There is a small (free) carpark located on the road between Wookey Hole & the village of Priddy (the road is narrow and steep past Ebbor Gorge (from Wookey direction), so I would advise approaching from Priddy if you have a large vehicle or camper van).

This cache is a replacement for the original LQ: Somerset - Hyden Wood (GC15A1Z)

Geocache placed with permission from South West Heritage Trust
