La línea divisoria de las aguas, divisoria de drenaje o simplemente divisoria, es el límite entre dos cuencas hidrográficas contiguas (dos vertientes hidrográficas contiguas). Las aguas de lluvia caídas a cada lado de la divisoria acaban siendo recogidas por los ríos principales de las cuencas o vertientes respectivas, pudiendo acabar en destinos muy distantes. Por ejemplo, la divisoria continental de América es la línea imaginaria que separa las aguas que acaban drenando el océano Pacífico de las que drenan al Atlántico (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divisoria_de_aguas ). Precisamente un cache en esa divisoria americana, conocida como “continental divide” o “great divide” es el que ha inspirado este earthcache en el corazón de los Pirineos. Se trata del cache https://coord.info/GC230DE (The Great Divide at Milner Pass) situado en las Montañas Rocosas, próximo a la entrada del Rocky Mountain National Park.
Del mismo modo, nuestro earthcache nos lleva muy cerca de la línea imaginaria que separa las cuencas Atlántica y Mediterránea, separadas por la cadena pirenaica. A pocos metros de esta divisoria nacen dos ríos. En la vertiente Atlántica el Garona, en el punto conocido como “Ojo del Garona”, dónde podemos encontrar un cache tradicional (https://coord.info/GC2C62F ).
En la vertiente mediterránea nace otro río y a ese punto nos llevan las coordenadas de este earthcache.
Para poder registrar el cache deberás:
- Adjuntar al log una fotografía tuya en las coordenadas (selfie o similar).
- Contestar la siguientes preguntas mediante un correo a través de la página del cache:
¿Qué río nace en las coordenadas de acuerdo con la señalización oficial?
¿Qué distancia aproximada separa este punto de la divisoria de aguas?
No es necesario esperar aprobación para registrarse el cache. Si hubiera algún error, os lo comunicaríamos.
Si al cabo de un mes del log no se reciben las respuestas, se borrará automáticamente.

A drainage divide or water divide is the line that separates neighbouring drainage basins. In hilly country, the divide lies along topographical ridges, and may be in the form of a single range of hills or mountains, known as a dividing range. A valley floor divide is a low drainage divide that runs across a valley, sometimes created by deposition or stream capture (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drainage_divide ).
For example, the Continental Divide of the Americas is the imaginary line that separates the waters that end up draining the Pacific Ocean from the Atlantic draining. In this line, near the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park could be found the earthcache called "The Great Divide at Milner Pass" (https://coord.info/GC230DE) that has inspired this one in the heart of the Pyrenees.
The coordinates brings us very close to the imaginary line that separates the Atlantic and Mediterranean basins, separated by the Pyrenean chain. The coordinates do not lead exactly to the partition, but the birth of a major river that flows into the Mediterranean. Within walking distance, it is the place where traditionally born admits that another major river flows into the Atlantic Ocean: the Garonne. A tradicional cache (https://coord.info/GC2c62f) leads us to that place.
To register the cache you must:
1. Attach to log a picture of you at coordinates (selfie or similar).
2. Mail me the answers to the following questions:
What river is born in the coordinates according to the official signage?
What distance separates this point of the watershed?
You don’t need to wait approval to register the cache. If there are any errors, I´ll let you know.
If the answer is not received a month after the log, it will be deleted.
