Existence kulturní a historické památky je doložena rokem 1357. Původně gotickýkostel byl do současné renesanční podoby přestavěn v roce 1584 a v polovině 18. století bylo vybudováno barokní průčelí a brána na hřbitov. V osmdesátých letech minulého století byla provedena jeho celková rekonstrukce. V letech 2009 - 2011 byla provedena kompletní oprava věže včetně výměny trámoví a střešní krytiny. Z vnitřního vybavení kostela stojí za zmínku cínová křtitelnice z roku 1552 a oltářní obraz Křest v Jordáně od Josefa Hellicha z roku 1844. Ve zdech kostela jsou zazděny náhrobníky z let 1700 - 1824. Na bráně bývalé hřbitovní zdi je umístěna socha Bolestné Matky Páně.
Věžní hodiny kostela Hodinový stroj věžních hodin byl vyroben firmou HAINZ v roce 1917. Jedná se totzv. čtvrťový stroj upravený vloženým kolem na tzv. osmidenní. Tyto stroje potřebovaly větší hmotnost závaží. Celé soukolí včetně ložisek bylo proto abnormálně namáháno. To byl jeden z hlavních důvodů, proč se přestaly od roku 1921 vyrábět.
Rekonstrukce věžních hodin Před rekonstrukcí v roce 2001 byl hodinový stroj silně poškozen. Měl zlomené kyvadlo, zdeformované hřídele nátahových bubnů, rozbitý kontrolní číselník a poškozená ložiska. Stroj i rozvody byly vlivem dlouhé nečinnosti napadeny korozí. Venkovní číselníky a tepané ručičky chyběly. Ručičkové stroje byly neúplné. Cimbály zůstaly původní. V rámci rekonstrukce byl stroj vybaven tzv. minutovým vypouštěcím, elektrickýmnátahem a řídící elektronikou, která umožňuje automatický přechod na zimní - letní čas a má paměť pro případ výpadku elektrického proudu. Záruční doba na hodinový stroj je 24 měsíců a na elektroniku 12 měsíců. Spuštění stroje po opravě bylo provedeno 19. 11. 2001. Až se vám tedy naskytne pohled na holohlavský kostel, pozvedněte hlavu a podívejte také na věžní holohlavské hodiny.

The existence of a cultural and historical monument is documented in 1357. Originally a Gothic church was rebuilt in the present Renaissance form in 1584 and in the middle of the 18th century a baroque facade and a gate to the cemetery were built. In the eighties of the last century, it was completely renovated. In 2009 - 2011, a complete tower repair was carried out, including the replacement of beam and roofing. From the interior of the church is worth mentioning the tin baptistery from 1552 and the altar painting of the Baptism in Jordan by Josef Hellich from 1844. In the church walls are walled tombstones from the years 1700 - 1824. At the gate of the former cemetery wall is placed the statue of the painful Mother of the Lord.
Clock Tower Clock The clock tower was produced by HAINZ in 1917. It is the so-called. A quarter machine modified with an embedded wheel for so-called eight-day. These machines needed a larger weight of weight. All gear, including bearings, was therefore abnormally stressed. This was one of the main reasons why they ceased production in 1921.
Reconstruction of Tower Hours Before the reconstruction in 2001, the clock machine was severely damaged. He had a broken pendulum, deformed shaft shafts, a broken control dial, and damaged bearings. Both the machine and the distribution system were affected by corrosion due to long periods of inactivity. Outdoor dial and broken hands were missing. Handheld machines were incomplete. Within the reconstruction, the machine was equipped with a so-called minute drain, electric extraction and control electronics, which allows automatic transition to winter-summer time and has memory in case of power failure. The hourly warranty is 24 months and the electronics 12 months. The machine was started after the repair was done on November 19, 2001.
