Whether you are climbing the hill on foot or on a bicycle, or just driving past, this simple cache should provide a good reason to stop and rest and savour the magnificent view across the valley. From the imposing Noordhoek Peak on your right, across the sweep of Noordhoek beach to the seascapes and mountain contours of Kommetjie on your left, there is much to see and enjoy. In the foreground, horses can be seen grazing on the open expanse of Spes Bona Farm during the day. By night the periodic sweep of light from the Kommetjie lighthouse marks the danger of the coastline for shipping and of course the end of the day frequently provides the most spectacular sunsets. Sadly the bench and the cache have vanished. The view remains but you will not be able to enjoy it from a position of seated comfort while signing the log. The cache has reappeared in a smaller form and a nearby location. It now also reminds us of a Noordhoek winter and early spring interest - breeding amphibians.
