Geocache Description:

Another Roadside Attraction Geotrail

North Carolina - Taxidermy Hall of Fame, Creation Museum, Antique Tool Museum

There is nothing better than a good road trip: driving down the open road, eating at tiny roadside diners, going 150 miles out of the way to take a selfie in front of … the Peachoid water tower! Oh Say, can you see … me with the world’s largest frying pan?

This geotrail honors those unique, odd, bizarre, fun, historic, campy, weird, and just downright interesting roadside attractions in North and South Carolina. The caches aren’t meant to be hard, it is a power-trail after all. None of the caches are hidden at the posted locations - but answer the question correctly and you will have a working set of coordinates. All of the hides are preform bottles.

A combination of 3 museums for one money: A Creation Museum, an Antique Tool Museum, and the Taxidermy Hall of Fame are all housed in the same building. This Bible Belt attraction makes no bones about its worldview, to promote the "Genesis account of creation". The museum has a case that claims to hold all the evidence in the world for evolution. The case is empty. Another display is what looks like run-of-the-mill rock, but the museum claims this rock was extant before the Genesis flood and therefore was part of God's original creation. The fulmination against evolution and promotion of creationism aside, the museum boasts an impressive array of 200 stuffed animals, including pieces that have won awards at the state and national levels. Scorpions, caribou, deer, wild boars, pheasants, and a fish swathed in white fur adorn the walls and glass cases at the museum.
