Another Roadside Attraction Geotrail

North Carolina - Santa Land Theme Park

There is nothing better than a good road trip: driving down the open road, eating at tiny roadside diners, going 150 miles out of the way to take a selfie in front of … the Peachoid water tower! Oh Say, can you see … me with the world’s largest frying pan? This geotrail honors those unique, odd, bizarre, fun, historic, campy, weird, and just downright interesting roadside attractions in North and South Carolina. The caches aren’t meant to be hard, it is a power-trail after all. None of the caches are hidden at the posted locations - but answer the question correctly and you will have a working set of coordinates. All of the hides are preform bottles.

Small, retro Christmas themed amusement park and zoo features giant cartoon statues, a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, an arcade, a few playgrounds, a train, and paddle boats. It has everything you could want in a roadside attraction. There are giant fiberglass statues of rabbits, a snowman, and a kangaroo that surely appear in millions of family photo albums. The zoo is kinda of sad and the animals (monkeys, bears, zebras) are housed in small enclosures and visitors are encouraged to buy food and feed them. There are funky blacklight displays of elves and reindeers. And don't forget to end your day with a visit to Faith Chapel to hear the mannequin choir sing a garbled version of "Joy to the World" as strings move their hands slightly. - They don’t don't make stuff like this anymore, perhaps that is for the best.
