The Location:
Placed to highlight a section of the Dorntj Koorliny trail.
This section takes you along the edge of 'Island Farm' the first farm in the area. It was used because there was a naturally occuring split in the river which created an island and effectivly fenced of a section. I recomend using google earth as you will see how the river once split. It has changed alot due to changes done to the Mortlock/Avon river intersection but you can still make out where it went.
John Morrell who was the first settler in the area, built a bridge over to the island and created the farm. The bridge is located a little south of the Gun Club entrance, There is a portion of it still in existance but hard to see from the road.
The Cache:
The cache is a micro bison tube courtesy of our local GeoShop, It shouldn't be too hard to find even though I hid it ;)
You will need to bring a pen as even one of my micro pencils wont fit in it.
Have fun and enjoy the walk but watch for snakes in the warmer months.
