When the St. Joseph Office Park was being developed in built in the 1990s, the initial paln was for this tree along with many other old trees were to be removed. Thankfully, this bur oak survived due in part to public oucry. St. Joseph built the parking structure around the tree and took steps to preserve the tree. Unfortunately, those steps appear to be not enough and this tree appears to be in decline unless further steps are taken to save the tree.
THE CACHE
What's old is new again! It has been 10 years since I placed a cache at this location. It was bit tricky and used a bit of illusion in the hide. For this hide, this is not the case. Above all, the cache is not on the tree, so do not damage it. This cache is accessible from the absolute lowest level (I mean lowest!) Be sure to check the terrain and attributes to set you8r expectations. The cache is a camouflaged tube with log only. Bring your own writing instrument.
