According to www.cacherstats.com, at least twelve of New Zealand's current most prolific geocachers currently live in the Nelson region. Add to that figure a few names that used to call the area 'home' and some more regular visitors from the Blenheim and Marlborough region, and you'll soon see that the Top of the South area punches well above its weight when it comes to the volume of caches found, and indeed hidden, by a relatively small number of people.
So whether you are one of the locals, a welcome visitor to the region; your total finds are in single or quintuple figures, here's a hide as a way of giving a little something back to the geocaching world and the fun and pleasure it brings to so many. Thanks to those that hide and to those that find.
There's no real safe parking on the highway itself, so best pull off into Wai-iti Valley Road and then walk a few metres back to the GZ. Take care though still as it's quite a busy junction.
