***No need to search off trail***, it's hard to get accurate readings in that area, Use the hint if needed, this is hidden right along the trail
This is one of my favourite trails in the area, I do like to combine this with a hike starting out at the muir woods , go up bootjack to pantoll ranger station, down dipsea trail , and then either back up steep ravine trail to pantoll and then take ben johnson trail down to muir woods, this is long hike, (or extend the hike all the way down to rocky point beach and then up steep ravine and ben johnson to muir woods) check the map , these are longer hikes

Hiking down down from pantoll ranger station is not that far and you can make it a shorter loop taking the dipsea trail back up, or go down dipsea and back up on steep ravine
