A few guidelines that could keep you safe during summer include....
Wear long pants and trousers.
Always look where you place each foot.
Take a stick and make some noise.
Never place your hand in a hole/ crevice, in which you can not see, instead perhaps use a tool.
Consider geocaching in New Zealand where there aren't any snakes.
If you do come face to face with a snake yelling at it will not keep it from attacking you. Stay very still, and if it still looks to be in a threatening position, back away slowly. Don't make sudden movements or the snake may strike.
The cache is located in a typical Aussie bush snake haven, take care, obey the above rules and always be careful with the kids around. Cache is large enough to contain some swaps and small trackables. It should contain a pencil.
