2016 is the 125th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Auburn, Washington. Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation, auburntourism.com, and the WSGA are hosting the Auburn Geocaching Adventure 2016 - 20 caches placed in Auburn. The geocaches highlight some areas of historical significance, some parks, and some areas of general interest in Auburn. We hope you enjoy visiting the Auburn area, learning about its history and viewing its progress into the 21st Century.
Lea Hill Park is one of the newest in the Auburn park system. It has a cool skate park, a modern play ground area, a large open playfield area, and a miniture enclosed soccer field. There is also a covered picnic area for chillin'. It is a very family friendly park with plenty to do.
The geocache you are looking for is a camouflaged surprise. No room for trade items, but a treat to find. It may seem "hard" but should still be a quicker find for most. Park hours are sunrise to sunset, so keep that in mind as you head here for the search. Stealth will be needed but you should mostly be out of view as you search. In one direction there are the back windows/yards of some houses. In the other direction the cache is located a couple hundred feet behind a day care center, but within site of it's play area, so exercise the caution and prowess such an area demands. The container is definitely within the park so please don't jump the fence.
During the week street side parking is available on the north side of the park on SE 316th St. On the weekend the parking lot for the daycare center off 124th Ave SE is available. Have fun, and happy caching!
