Mit dem Bau der Kaserne ab 1972 erfolgte auch der Bau der Siedlung Basepohl. Hier entstanden auf Bodenreformland nach und nach 210 Wohnungen in 7 Blöcken. Eine Verkaufseinrichtung; ein Kindergarten/-grippe usw.
