The River Divoká Bystrice (Wilde Weißeritz) arises in about 850m altitude near Nové Mesto, that belongs to the town of Moldava. It does not come from a single source, but rather from several water sources on the mountain Hutunk. The hiding place is located near one of these water sources.
The sources together form a rivulet, which grows to a small river and flows north to Germany. In Freital, after 52,5 km, it unites with the "Rote Weißeritz". Under the name "Vereinigte Weißeritz" the river flows after another 13,7 km in Dresden into the river Elbe.
