The cache invites you to a place where, in days gone by, it was possible to cross the river Emajõgi on a barge. In fact, there used to be three places like this on the river - in Haaslava, Reku and Kavastu. Of those, only the last one still remains.
The barge itself can no longer be found here, as it was removed in the beginning of the 90s. Nowadays, this place is a favourite for local fishermen. When the barge was still running, there was also active community life on the other riverbank but by now, all the houses remaining have become summer houses that are generally accessible only by boat.
You too can come here, look for the cache, look over onto the other bank and think what this place could be like, if the barge at Reku was still up and running...
NB: Please consider the fact that movement in parts of the Emajõgi everglade is prohibited from April 15 to June 30 (see map here, "Emajõe luha sihtkaitsevöönd" on the map).

Aare kutsub teid kohta, kus omal ajal oli Emajõge võimalik ületada parvega. Selliseid kohti oli Emajõe peal tegelikult kolm - Haaslava, Reku ja Kavastu. Nendest on praeguseni säilinud vaid viimane.
Parve pole siin juba üheksakümnendate algusest ja koht on ennekõike tuntud kui selle piirkonna kalameeste suur lemmik. Kui parv veel regulaarselt töötas, oli teisel kaldal ka aktiivne elutegevus, nüüdseks on sealsed majad muutunud eksklusiivselt suvilateks, millele pääseb üldiselt ligi ainult mööda vett.
Võite teiegi tulla siia, otsida, vaadata seda teist kallast ja natuke mõtiskleda, milline see koht võiks olla, kui Reku parv veel oma tööd teeks...
NB: Arvestage, et Emajõe luha sihtkaitsevööndis on keelatud viibida vahemikus 15. aprillist 30. juunini (vt kaarti siin).
