Geocache Description:

Cache is between the Schnaus Forestry Cabin and the parking co-ordinates listed.  Camo'd tupperware container.

My GPS was kind of jumpy in the trees, only got about 23' acuracy, but I think it should be a pretty easy find.

The Schnaus cabin is one of my favorite of the Flathead National Forestry cabins, and it is wheelchair accessable.  The property the Schnaus cabin sits on was originally patented to Hollis DeFord in 1917, and approximately every 20 years it changed hands until Alfred and Irene Schnaus bought the cabin in 1971. In 1979 Irene made a Gift Deed of the cabin to the Nature Conservancy, from whom it was later purchased by the Forest Service.

Can continue down the road from the Schnaus cabin to a nice Flathead River access and camping area.  Beautiful in the fall.  Lots of deer in the area.  Bear sightings also, so be BEAR AWARE when you are anywhere in the Polebridge area.  This cabin is only an hour drive from Bowman Lake, Kintla Lake is a little farther.  Or travel on up the Northfork Road for river access and camping near the Ford forestry cabin or across the street from the Wurtz Cabin.  These camping sites normally close the end of October.

First to find gift is a Montana hand made arrowhead and a keychain made from an antler.  Good luck and be careful out there!
