Origins of the Vampire: Awareness Multi-Cache

The myth of vampires has soaked itself into our lives and has saturated our pop culture for decades. You may want to think that vampires can be sexy and sparkly or be correct by thinking vampires are horrifying and demonic. Either way, you have seen the movies, heard the stories, and pretty much know all the hallmarks of these dark creatures. But do you know the origins of the vampiric characteristics? This year’s Hallowed Series attempts to explain the facts behind the myths...purely for educational purposes, of course. If you’re just in it for the smiley’s then go find the caches. Hera, the queen of the gods and patron goddess of childbirth, didn’t like this beast and made her go insane and eat her own children. She became a monster and killed human children out of jealousy. Sound familiar?
The Chinese had Jiangshi, vampiric ghoul-like, reanimated corpse that kills at night and rests during the day in coffins or caves. This was because they were denied the afterlife due to things they did in life.
