La vecchia fonte di Lonate Ceppino sorge a metà costa della valle Olona e rappresenta la prima sorgente idrica alla quale attingevano tutti gli abitanti della zona. La sorgente è raggiungibile sia dalla valle che dal centro storico del paese tramite un sentiero pedonale cementificato, lo stesso che nei secoli scorsi fungeva da punto di collegamento tra il centro storico del paese e i mulini della Valle.
Recuperata nel 2002 dall'Amministrazione Comunale di Lonate Ceppino. L'ultimo intervento di restauro risaliva al 1750 a opera di Maria Teresa d'Austria.
Sulla verticale della fontana sorge la chiesa di San Pietro, detta anche Chiesa del Consacrato e risalente al XII secolo , a testimonianza dell'importanza che si riservava nel passato alle fonti come luoghi di spiritualità.

The old spring of Lonate Ceppino is located halfway of the Olona valley and is the first water source to which drew all the inhabitants of the area. The source is reachable both from the valley and from the village through a pedestrian path, the same that in the past served as a connecting point between the historic center of the village and the mills of the Valley.
It was recovered in 2002 by the Municipality of Lonate Ceppino. The last restoration dates back to 1750 at the hands of Maria Theresa of Austria.
On the vertical of the spring stands the church of St. Peter, also called the Church of the Anointed One, dating from the twelfth century, reflecting the importance that was reserved in the past to springs as spirituality places.
